SOUTH KIVU: The church plays a crucial role in strengthening community resilience, social cohesion, peace, and sustainable development.
Demonstrating this impact, the New Hope Reconciliation Center (NHRC), in partnership with Congo Peace, hosted an intercommunal concert in Bukavu, South Kivu.
Congo Peace works alongside local initiatives to heal ethnic divides, empower youth, and foster unity through Gospel-centered reconciliation and development.
This collaborative event brought together church youth and choirs—to build bridge-building dialogue and fraternity across communities.
During the gathering, New Hope Reconciliation Center Executive Director Joseph Harera called on the youth to become active ambassadors of peace. Drawing from Matthew 5:9 and the wisdom of Martin Luther King Jr., he reminded participants that lasting peace begins in the heart, stands firm on justice, and transforms our diversity into shared strength.
